Graduate Lottery Merit Scholarship


Students meeting the 3.25 GPA or higher during their application process will be prompted to complete their scholarship application. Scholarships of $1000 for the first term of attendance will be awarded to those that meet all criteria which includes: registration of 6 credits or more, fully admitted into a degree-seeking program, not an employee of WOU (including GAs), and not receiving waivers or scholarships from their school district or another associated grant. Scholarships awarded based on fund availability and date of application submission.

DEADLINES FOR SCHOLARSHIP:

  • Summer Term 2024: May 1, 2024
  • Fall Term 2024: June 1, 2024
  • Winter Term 2025: November 1, 2024

Financial Aid


Financial Aid offerings may include scholarships, grants, loans, or work-study for admitted students. The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is required, and opens on October 1 of each year for the following academic year. Submit the FAFSA by February 1 for priority financial aid consideration.

*Students completing an endorsement, certificate, or specialization only are not eligible for federal financial aid.

All students are assessed a one-time matriculation fee of $315.

* The regular academic year consists of three terms or quarters. The average estimated cost of education below is for a full-time graduate student for the academic year (9 months). The tuition and fees estimates for graduate students are based on 11 graduate credits per term. Actual tuition billing may vary based on number of credits taken and any associated course fees.
** Not fixed costs; varies depending on credit load and housing/board choices.

Calculating Cost

The cost of your degree depends on many factors, including:

  • Where you live
  • Whether you will take classes online or on campus
  • Scholarships or student employment you receive
  • Time to complete

In addition, WOU many change tuition and fees between today and when you finish your program, changing the overall cost estimate. The total cost of attendance will depend on the number of credits taken, books and supplies needed for different courses, and personal spending habits.
